Since October is National Breast Cancer Month, I'd like to give away some items that will definitely make you think in pink! Please share with other readers your story of survival or the story of a loved one to be entered for a chance to win a bag of Breast Cancer merchandise.

Also ladies AND gentleman please remember to take the time out this month to check your breast health. You can do this by having your Doctor perform a mammogram, or take a moment to examine them yourself. to Here is a link to an article on the correct way to do a Self Exam from the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

AstraZeneca, which manufactures breast cancer drugs Arimidex and Tamoxifen, founded the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the year 1985. The aim of the NBCAM from the start has been to promote mammography as the most effective weapon in the fight against breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) (also referred to in America as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM)) is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.

As well as providing a platform for breast cancer charities to raise awareness of their work and of the disease, BCAM is also a prime opportunity to remind women to be breast aware for earlier detection.

Free Cookie at Great American Cookie on October 1st

October is National Cookie Month!!!

It seems that Great American Cookie is really about helping out reading for October. Yup, if you visit your local Great American Cookie between 10am and 2pm on October 1st, you can get a free cookie. Not a bad deal just for swinging by.
And they sweeten the pot with “Donate a book in October, get a cookie.” That’s one cookie per person, per day. I wonder if they’d accept my copy of If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. Not exactly saying they’re mice, but the irony fits. That, or maybe I can get 30 nickle romance novels to donate to keep my costs low.
This post pulled from Hey It's Free! Visit them often for more great freebies.

Today is National Camera Day

Today is June 29th and it is National "Camera Day" (according to a pet newsletter I receive). We love taking photos of PAWS, although she hates the camera and gives us the "side eye". But, it's still enjoyable to us to capture her picture even without her cooperation each time!

Regardless of whether you want a good action shot, a great picture of your pet "dressed to kill" or just a cute pose - there are some tips that can help. Here is the perfect article just for you: Perfect Pet Photos.
