THURSDAY, AUGUST 19, 3:00 p.m.  Encore II discussing ANGLE OF REPOSE by Wallace Stegner. Open to everyone (as are all our book groups and events).

SATURDAY, AUGUST 21, 6:30 P.M.  Raleigh Write2Publish free seminar with guest Suzy Barile, author of UNDAUNTED HEART: THE TRUE LOVE STORY OF A SOUTHERN BELLE AND A YANKEE GENERAL.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 22, 3:00-4:00 P.M. Peggy Tabor Millin discussing and signing WOMEN, WRITING, AND SOULMAKING.  From 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. she will offer a writing workshop, free with the purchase of her book.

MONDAY, AUGUST 23, 7:00 p.m.  Contemporary Fiction discussing OLIVE KITTERIDGE by Elizabeth Strout.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 28, 7:00 p.m.  Origami for everyone.

MONDAY, AUGUST 30, 7:30 p.m.  Kathy Pories, editor of NEW STORIES FROM THE SOUTH 2010, with contributors Aaron Gwyn and Wells Tower.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 29, 7:00 p.m.  QRB Discussion Group with GUERNSEY LITERARY AND POTATO PEEL PIE SOCIETY by Maryann Shaffer and Annie Barrows.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 31, 7:00 p.m.  Enchanted Adults discussing SAVVY by Ingrid Law.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 7:30 p.m.  Family Music Event:  KidZNotes & El Sistema in NC:  Transforming Children's Futures Through Classical, Orchestral Music.  Presentation and performance. 

THURSDAY, September 2, 12:30-1:30 p.m.  Pat Benatar will sign copies of her memoir, BETWEEN A HEART AND A ROCK PLACE.  Signing line tickets issued with purchase of her book and you will be entered in a raffle to win (with two others) a private meeting with Pat after the signing to chat and have your book personalized.

SPECIAL CHILDREN'S EVENTS:  The Diary of a Wimpy Kid Summer Reading Ice Cream Truck rolls into town on Thursday, August 19, 5:00 p.m..  Come get a free frozen treat to celebrate the upcoming publication of DIARY OF A WIMPY KID BOOK #5: THE UGLY TRUTH, on sale Tuesday, 11/9.  This is not an author event.

Same day, Thursday, August 19, at 6:30 p.m., Stephen Messer, author of WINDBLOWNE (for ages 8 and up) will visit with his delightful fantasy, set in multiple worlds linked by trees and winds.
