USPS Stamps for a Cause

With so much done online now, it's rare that you even think about stamps from the United States Postal Service. Well, I still send bills by snail mail with an actual check!!!! But for everything else I do try to use my debit card if there is no cash on hand.

Recently I purchased a book of stamps from a local drug store. I noticed after leaving that the receipt charged more than what the Forever stamps should have cost us. Assuming that there was a fee charged like at most grocery stores, I made a mental note to only shop at the post office from now on!

After READING the actual envelope they came in, we saw that these particular stamps were designed to have a portion of the sales go to the Special Olympics USA and were from Stamps "On The GO!". It even came with a little wallet sized calendar (which I needed).  This is a commercial-label stamp booklet of 12 USPS stamps that companies can choose to sell at their establishments. Yo see if your company qualifies, just log on to their site.

I still wanted to order some stamps that feature characters. When I send actual cards or letters I feel like it gives a personal identifier if I stick on a little picture that would make people actually pay attention to the envelope!  So online I went and found that they have released some for the adoption of shelter dogs. They are called Stamps to the Rescue . The sponsor is one of PAWS favorite new products HALO Purely for Pets! This was taken directly from the the USPS site about the campaign...
Because Shelter Pets Deserve a First-Class Meal In celebration of the new Animal Rescue: Adopt a Shelter Pet stamps, the Postal Service™, together with Ellen DeGeneres and Halo: Purely for Pets, is giving shelter pets around the country a First-Class Meal. During the launch of the stamps, Halo will be donating a million meals to animal shelters around the country.

Speaking of HALO, don't forget to use your coupon code before it expires May 31st, from this post:
